Dr George Tsangaris studied Chemistry at
the University of Ioannina, from where he graduated in 1983. He received his
Ph.D. from the University of Ioannina, in Biochemistry in 1991. He was
post-doctoral fellow of French Government (1991-1993), at INSERM U200 (Paris, France) on Molecular Biology, Molecular Immunology and Immuno toxicology and researcher at the same institute until
1994.
From that year he
joined the University Research Institute of Genetic and Malignant
Diseases (University of Athens, Greece), as principal
investigator, responsible for the project “Molecular study
of childhood cancer”. In 2002 he joined Roche Center
for Medical Genomics (Basel, Swiss) for a six months sabbatical in
Proteomics.
His major
research interests are molecular oncology
related to the diagnosis and treatment of
malignant diseases as well as the study of apoptosis by micro arrays and proteomics analysis.
